BAI-OTT Conveyor Belt Accessories Suppliers - 26 years of r&d of new splicing materials and rubber maintenance materials.
Mining conveying systems constantly face the challenges of high loads and extensive wear. The quality of the pulley lagging directly impacts equipment lifespan and production efficiency.
For this installation, the client team selected 12 mm-thick ceramic rubber sheets, tailored to the mining environment. Their unique groove design effectively improves drainage and mud removal, reducing the risk of material adhesion.
The entire installation process utilized Bai-Ott's cold-vulcanized pulley lagging adhesive kit. Through a standardized process involving surface preparation, metal primer protection, and adhesive curing, the rubber layer achieved a molecular-level bond with the pulley's metal surface.
On-site technicians reported that the entire process, from pulley pretreatment to completed lagging, took only six hours, representing a 40% improvement in efficiency compared to traditional processes, which significantly minimizes the impact of equipment downtime on production schedules.
This project employed a multi-layered protection system:
First, the drum surface was treated with SA3600 metal primer for rust prevention. Its high permeability fills the metal's micropores, forming a stable base. Then, SA3000, a two-component cold-vulcanizing adhesive, was applied. This material cross-links at room temperature, achieving a peel strength exceeding 14N/mm² and a temperature resistance range of -30°C to 100°C. A 12mm ceramic rubber sheet was then applied, achieving a wear resistance of 180mm³ (DIN standard), effectively resisting impacts from sharp, angular rocks. Third-party testing showed that the drum's shear strength increased by 35% after the rubber coating compared to the pre-installation version, extending the equipment's maintenance cycle to over two years.
