Causes and solutions for conveyor belt slippage

Conveyor belt slippage is a common problem with conveyors, resulting in reduced material transport efficiency, increased belt wear, and even damage to the conveyor.

Causes of Conveyor Belt Slippage
1. Insufficient belt tension, unable to provide sufficient friction for the drive roller.
2. Drive roller rubber wear, resulting in a reduced coefficient of friction.
3. Conveyor overload, with the weight of the conveyed material exceeding the specified load.
4. Damaged idlers, increasing the belt's operating resistance.
5. The conveyor operates in a humid environment, resulting in excessive moisture on the belt surface, accumulation of dust, oil, and other impurities, reducing friction between the roller and the belt.  

Solutions 

1. Insufficient belt tension can be addressed by adjusting the conveyor's tensioning device.
2. If the drive roller rubber is worn, re-coat it with highly wear-resistant diamond-shaped rubber sheets or ceramic rubber sheets.

3. Overloading a conveyor is very harmful and is therefore not recommended.
4. Damaged idler components should be replaced promptly.
5. During the mining material transportation, to prevent dust and meet production process requirements, most materials must maintain a certain moisture content. After passing the transfer point, excess material may remain attached to the conveyor belt surface. Biotec recommends installing a ZJCLEAN cleaner.

In addition to the above methods, to effectively prevent conveyor belt slippage, management personnel must perform routine conveyor maintenance and promptly address any problems identified to ensure efficient conveyor operation.
