Problem
A customer from a mining in Germany contacted us because the rubber conveyor belt broke during operation, causing production to stagnate.
Solution
When a conveyor belt breaks, it is usually recommended to make a joint. Conveyor belt joints are currently divided into three types: Mechanical joints, Cold vulcanized joints, and Hot splicing. After long-term practical tests, the hot vulcanized joint has the best application effect. Mechanical joints are prone to conflict with the cleaner system, and cold vulcanized joints have very high requirements for glue and construction personnel. Hot vulcanized joints use a vulcanizer to heat and pressurize the joint part of the conveyor belt. The strength of the conveyor belt after the joint is closest to the original conveyor belt, so this method is recommended. Moreover, this operation is mostly performed at high places, so a light vulcanizing press ZJ-RAM-1400 is recommended to customers.
Results
The customer used a vulcanizing machine with a Hot Solution SA8000, uncured tie gum ZJ-FTG-0508 and uncured cover rubber ZJ-STB-0502 to make hot vulcanized joint operations on the broken part of the conveyor belt. The joint part was restored to its original state and can be put into normal work again, and there is no need to replace the conveyor belt, which saves costs and ensures service life.
